"Dak Prescott Unafraid to Leave Dallas and Join a New Team"

"Dak Prescott Unafraid of Leaving Dallas, Ready to Play for Another Team"

Approaching the final year of his four-year, $160 million contract as negotiations for an extension continue, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott expressed his desire to remain in Dallas but also acknowledged the possibility of leaving in the future.

\"I want to stay here, but when you look at all the great quarterbacks I've watched, they've played for different teams,\" the 30-year-old veteran told reporters on the first day of training camp. \"So my point is, that's not something to be afraid of. It could be a reality for me one day, and it may not be my decision.\"

During his own press conference at training camp, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones stated his belief that the Cowboys will re-sign Prescott, who was the runner-up for the 2023 NFL MVP award.

\"I don't think this will be his last year with the Cowboys at all,\" Jones told reporters.

After a season in which he led the league with 410 completions and 36 touchdown passes, Prescott described the negotiations as a \"two-way street.\"

\"They have their wants, I have my wants,\" the three-time Pro Bowler said. \"This is a business and while I want to be here, this is where I grew up and became a man, at the end of the day, it's still a business.\"

Since becoming the Cowboys' starting quarterback in 2016, Prescott has a record of 73-41. He has completed 67% of his passes for 29,459 yards, with 202 touchdowns and 74 interceptions. He has a playoff record of 2-5.
