'Chiefs-Bills Draws Huge Viewership; NFC Championship Game Ratings Decline'

"Record-Breaking Viewership for AFC Championship Game: Chiefs vs. Bills Report"

According to the Sports Business Journal, the Kansas City Chiefs' victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in the AFC Championship game was the most-watched in history, with 57.4 million viewers tuning in on CBS.

This surpassed the previous record of 55.5 million viewers set by the Chiefs' win over the Baltimore Ravens in 2020.

It was also the highest number for any AFC or NFC title game since the New York Giants' victory over the San Francisco 49ers in 2012, which had an audience of 57.6 million.

In comparison, the NFC Championship game on FOX, which was played in an earlier time slot, had an average of 44.2 million viewers. This was the lowest number for an NFC title game since 2019.

Possible reasons for the significantly higher viewership for the Chiefs-Bills game include its later time slot, the close score, and the presence of two popular quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Additionally, the attendance of pop star Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, may have also contributed to the high viewership.
