The New Orleans Saints' starting wide receiver, Chris Olave, was declared unable to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who were visiting, after suffering a concussion in the first quarter on Sunday.

Olave caught a 5-yard pass from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler and was injured from a helmet-to-helmet collision with safety Tykee Smith. On his sole catch of the day, Olave lost the ball and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. recovered it, running 58 yards for a touchdown with 8:54 remaining in the first quarter.

Prior to the game, Olave had the second highest number of receptions (22) and receiving yards (275) on the team. In his third season, the Saints' first-round pick from 2022 has accumulated 182 catches for 2,445 yards and 10 touchdowns in 37 games, starting in 26 of them.
