"Buccaneers put CB Jamel Dean (hamstring) on injured reserve"

"Jamel Dean (hamstring) of Buccaneers put on injured reserve"

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers positioned starting cornerback Jamel Dean (hamstring) and rookie wide receiver Kameron Johnson (ankle) on the injured reserve list on Monday prior to their home matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

As a result, Tampa Bay also activated defensive lineman Earnest Brown IV from the injured reserve and promoted punter Trenton Gill from the practice squad for the Ravens game. Gill is currently competing with Jake Camarda for the Buccaneers' punting position.

Dean, who is 28 years old, has started in all six games for Tampa Bay this season but sustained a hamstring injury during the team's Week 6 victory over the New Orleans Saints. He was unable to participate in practice this week.

Throughout the year, Dean has accumulated 43 tackles and four pass breakups. In his 76 career games (with 57 starts) since being drafted by the Buccaneers in the third round of the 2019 draft, Dean has recorded 297 tackles, 49 pass breakups, seven interceptions (one of which was returned for a touchdown), and two fumble recoveries.

Johnson, who is 22 years old and was signed as an undrafted free agent this offseason, has appeared in four games and played a total of 40 snaps on offense and 20 on special teams. He has one rushing attempt for zero yards.

Brown, who is 25 years old, missed the first six games of the season due to a rib injury. He was cleared to return on October 9th. This is his first season with Tampa Bay after playing in 12 games over the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.
