The proprietors of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have augmented their contribution to not-for-profit organizations that are spearheading hurricane-assistance endeavors to $2 million.

The team declared on Thursday that the Glazer family added an additional $1 million donation following Hurricane Milton, which hit Florida's western coast on October 9. The family had previously donated $1 million to support local organizations after Hurricane Helene earlier this month.

"The Tampa Bay area has undergone traumatic difficulties caused by recent Hurricanes Milton and Helene and in times like these, our community unites to provide the support and resources that are desperately needed," the Glazers stated in a statement released by the team. "As we continue the tireless work of recovering from the devastation that so many have experienced, we are committed to supporting the local organizations that are providing crucial services to our neighbors in need. Despite the challenges of recent weeks, our resilient Tampa Bay community will persevere and thrive once again."

Raymond James Stadium, where the Buccaneers hold their home games, sustained only minor damage in Hurricane Milton. However, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, suffered significant damage.

The storm left the Tropicana Field roof in shreds and according to the Tampa Bay Times, the stadium will not be fully repaired by Opening Day.
