"Browns trade WR Amari Cooper to Bills"

Browns trade WR Amari Cooper to Bills

The Buffalo Bills have obtained experienced wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns.

On Tuesday, the Bills confirmed that they will acquire Cooper and a sixth-round draft pick in 2025 in exchange for a third-round pick in 2025 and a seventh-round pick in 2026.

This move comes after the Bills' 23-20 win against the New York Jets on Monday, who also made a trade for receiver Davante Adams.

Cooper, who is 30 years old, has been selected to the Pro Bowl five times and has had seven seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards. In six starts this season with the Browns (1-5), he has recorded 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

This trade gives Bills quarterback Josh Allen a top-tier receiver to replace Stefon Diggs, who was traded to the Houston Texans earlier this year.

Currently, tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the Bills (4-2) with 21 receptions, while wide receiver Khalil Shakir has 249 receiving yards on 20 catches.

In his 10 seasons in the NFL, Cooper has accumulated 691 catches for 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns in 146 games (139 starts) with the Oakland Raiders (2015-18), Dallas Cowboys (2018-21), and Browns.

Cooper is in the final year of his five-year, $100 million contract with the Cowboys, which he signed in 2020. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
