The Green Bay Packers are in the process of signing experienced kicker Brandon McManus and releasing newcomer Brayden Narveson, according to various media reports on Tuesday evening.

Narveson, aged 25, played in all six games for the Packers and successfully made 12 of 17 field-goal attempts (70.6 percent), with his longest being 47 yards. However, four of his five missed attempts were from the 40-49 yard range. He also made all 16 of his extra point attempts.

Since the end of last season, Green Bay has had five other kickers on their 90-man roster, including Alex Hale who is now on the practice squad.

On Tuesday, the Packers had McManus try out for the team. McManus, aged 33, previously played for Jacksonville in 2023, where he successfully made 30 of 37 field-goal attempts, with his longest being 56 yards. He also made all 35 of his extra point attempts in 17 games.

In March, he signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Washington Commanders as a free agent, but was released on June 3 following a civil lawsuit that was filed against him for an alleged incident while he was with the Jaguars.

Two women filed a lawsuit accusing McManus of inappropriate behavior on a flight to London for two games in October 2023. One of the accusers claimed that McManus tried to kiss her, while the other said he \"smirked and walked away\" after she confronted him about his actions.

The Jaguars were also named in the lawsuit, as the women alleged that the team did not provide a safe working environment on the flight. They also claimed that players, including McManus, disregarded air travel safety and that the kicker tried to bribe flight attendants with $100 bills to drink and dance.

In September, a Florida circuit court judge dismissed the initial lawsuit because the accusers used pseudonyms instead of their real names. However, they re-filed the lawsuits three days later and are seeking over $1 million in damages and a jury trial.

In response, McManus' lawyer filed a counterclaim stating that the accusers had been drinking and had drug addictions, as well as making sexually explicit social media posts and using a racial slur.

The NFL concluded its investigation into the incident on September 30 and stated that there was insufficient evidence to support a violation of the personal conduct policy. However, they also stated that if new evidence is presented, it will be taken into consideration.

As a free agent, McManus is able to sign with any team.

McManus spent his first nine seasons with the Denver Broncos (2014-2022) and had a success rate of 81.4 percent on field-goal attempts (223 of 274), with his longest being 61 yards. He also had a 96.9 percent success rate on extra point attempts (277 of 286).
