According to ESPN, the New England Patriots have reached an agreement with linebacker Jahlani Tavai on a three-year extension contract.

The contract has a base value of $15 million and could potentially reach $21 million with added incentives.

In the previous season, Tavai, who is 27 years old, ranked second on the Patriots with 110 tackles in 17 games, 16 of which he started.

Throughout his career, he has accumulated 309 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and three interceptions in a total of 78 games, with 44 of those being starts. He has played for both the Detroit Lions (2019-2020) and the Patriots.

Tavai was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 2019 draft, after playing college football at the University of Hawaii.
