Bears Running Back D’Andre Swift (groin) Absent from Practice
The Chicago Bears' top running back, D'Andre Swift, was absent from practice on Wednesday due to a groin injury. However, his head coach remains optimistic that he will be ready for Week 12.
In the team's recent 20-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers, Swift managed to rush for 71 yards and score a touchdown. However, he was only able to participate in 57% of the offensive snaps.
Coach Matt Eberflus hopes that Swift will be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings (8-2).
Two other players, offensive lineman Ryan Bates and defensive back Elijah Hicks, also missed Wednesday's practice. Bates is in concussion protocol while Hicks is dealing with an ankle injury.
This season, Swift, who is 25 years old, has rushed for 635 yards and five touchdowns in 10 starts with the Bears. He has also caught 28 passes for 243 yards.
In 2023, Swift was selected for his first Pro Bowl while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. He had an impressive season, rushing for 1,049 yards and scoring five touchdowns.
