The National Football League announced on Tuesday that Atlanta will be the location for Super Bowl LXII in 2028.

This will mark the second time that Mercedes-Benz Stadium has hosted the Super Bowl, with the first being Super Bowl LIII in February 2019. Atlanta has also hosted two previous Super Bowls, Super Bowl XXVIII in January 1994 and Super Bowl XXXIV in January 2000, both of which were held at the Georgia Dome.

The announcement was made during the fall league meeting in Atlanta.

According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Atlanta is a top-notch event destination and a perfect fit for Super Bowl 62. He also praised Falcons owner Arthur Blank for his role in bringing the Super Bowl back to the city and his dedication to community engagement and economic development through sports and philanthropy. Goodell expressed excitement for working with Blank, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Sports Council, and other partners to create an unforgettable experience for fans in 2028.

The next Super Bowl, Super Bowl LIX, will take place at the Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. In 2026, Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California will host the game, followed by SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in 2027.
