"Announcement: Vikings Place Kicker Will Reichard (quadricep) on Injured Reserve"
The Minnesota Vikings are putting kicker Will Reichard (quad strain) on the injured reserve list and bringing in free agent John Parker Romo to take his place, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.
Reichard sustained the injury during Sunday night's 21-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He missed two field goal attempts from 53 and 31 yards.
So far this season, the 23-year-old rookie has made 14 out of 16 field goals and all 23 extra points.
The Vikings drafted Reichard in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft from the University of Alabama.
Romo, 27, has not yet played in an NFL game. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and spent the 2023 season with the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.
He joined the Vikings during the offseason but was released during training camp.
