"Announcement: Raiders Release CB Jack Jones Following Unsuccessful Trade Attempts"

The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly let go of experienced cornerback Jack Jones on Sunday, as per multiple sources.

Despite attempting to trade the 27-year-old, the team was unable to find a suitable partner for him.

In the 2024 season, Jones started in 16 games (17 appearances) for the Raiders. He had an impressive performance, with three interceptions, one touchdown, 16 passes defended, and 69 combined tackles in his first full season with the team.

Selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones has a total of 136 combined tackles, seven interceptions, 27 passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and four scores in his first three seasons in the NFL.

Throughout his career, Jones has played in 42 games (21 starts) for both the Patriots (2022-23) and the Las Vegas Raiders (2023-24). He was released by the Patriots in November 2023 and claimed by the Raiders the following day.

With his release, teams will not be required to give up a compensatory pick in order to sign him during the offseason.
