Ja\'Whaun Bentley, a linebacker for the New England Patriots, will be out for the remainder of the year due to a torn pectoral muscle, according to reports from multiple media sources on Monday night.

Bentley sustained an injury to his shoulder during the first quarter of Sunday\'s game against the Seattle Seahawks. Initially, it was believed to be a minor issue, but ESPN reported on Monday that it was more serious than originally thought.

The Patriots, who currently have a record of 1-1, have a short week ahead and Bentley was expected to play in their upcoming game against the New York Jets on Thursday.

However, the 28-year-old will now have to sit out for the rest of the season. In the first two games of the season, Bentley had 12 tackles and half a sack.

Throughout his seven seasons in the NFL, all with the New England Patriots, Bentley has accumulated 509 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles in 83 games, with 68 of those being starts.
