Breaking News: 49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) Ruled Out for Remainder of the Season

The San Francisco 49ers' standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk, suffered a season-ending injury in Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. According to multiple media reports on Monday, Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL.

NFL Network confirmed the injuries to Aiyuk's right knee, which occurred in the final minute of the first half of the 49ers' 28-18 loss at home.

Before leaving the game, Aiyuk had two receptions for 23 yards. He sustained the injury while catching a 15-yard pass and being hit by two defenders from Kansas City. The hit from Chamarri Conner caused Aiyuk's right leg to bend backward.

Aiyuk, who is 26 years old, has not caught a touchdown pass in seven starts this season for the 49ers (3-4). He has 25 catches for 374 yards. In 2023, he was selected as a second-team All-Pro and recently signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension in late August after holding out during the offseason.

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Aiyuk 25th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft from Arizona State. In 69 regular-season games (67 starts), he has 294 career catches for 4,305 yards and 25 touchdowns.
