Vanderbilt's defensive end, Miles Capers, was removed from the field on a stretcher during the second quarter of the game against Kentucky on Saturday night.

Capers received a blow to the head after colliding with a teammate during a 6-yard rush by Kentucky's running back, Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, with 10:33 left in the first half. He was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Before leaving the game, Capers had made three tackles.

The senior player, Capers, had recorded 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in five games (all of which he started) this season.
