A crucial defensive stand in the final moments of the game secured a 20-13 victory for No. 4 Ohio State over No. 3 Penn State in State College, Pa on Saturday afternoon.
The Buckeyes (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) have now defeated the Nittany Lions (7-1, 4-1) eight consecutive times since 2016.
With just over five minutes left in the game, Penn State had a first-and-goal from the 3-yard line. However, despite three attempts, they were only able to gain two yards. A pass intended for Khalil Dinkins on fourth down was incomplete, sealing the win for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes were able to run out the clock with quarterback Will Howard, a Pennsylvania native, rushing for seven yards on a crucial third-and-3 play from the Penn State 47. He then took a knee to end the game. Ohio State has now defeated the Nittany Lions eight straight times since 2016.
Howard finished the game with 16 completions on 24 attempts for 182 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Running back Quinshon Judkins also had a strong performance, rushing for 95 yards. On the other side, Penn State's Drew Allar completed 12 of 20 passes for 146 yards and an interception.

Quarterback Dillon Gabriel led the way for the Ducks with a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown, while Jordan James rushed for a touchdown and 117 yards. In a close game, Georgia's Carson Beck completed 25 of 40 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs over the Gators. And in a high-scoring affair, Miami's Cam Ward threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns to keep the Hurricanes undefeated.
No. 7 Tennessee also had a strong showing, defeating Kentucky 28-18 behind running back Dylan Sampson's 142 rushing yards and two touchdowns. And in a surprise upset, South Carolina handed No. 10 Texas A&M their first SEC loss with a 44-20 victory.
In other notable games, Texas Tech defeated No. 11 Iowa State 23-22, Louisville upset No. 11 Clemson 33-21, and No. 13 Indiana dominated Michigan State 47-10.
In a close game, Houston pulled off an upset over No. 17 Kansas State with a 24-19 victory. SMU also had a dominant performance, beating No. 18 Pittsburgh 48-25 behind quarterback Kevin Jennings' 306 passing yards and two touchdowns. And in a high-scoring game, No. 19 Ole Miss defeated Arkansas 63-31 with quarterback Jaxson Dart throwing for 515 yards and six touchdowns.
In other notable games, No. 21 Army defeated Air Force 20-3, and Minnesota upset No. 24 Illinois 25-17 with quarterback Max Brosmer throwing a game-winning touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
