"Texas and Steve Sarkisian Reach 7-Year Agreement, According to Report"

According to reports, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has reportedly declined interviews with two NFL teams for their coaching vacancies. However, he has now agreed to a new seven-year deal, as reported by ESPN on Saturday.
As per ESPN's report, this new contract adds an additional year to Sarkisian's current deal and secures his position as one of the highest-paid coaches in college football.
The Action Network was the first to report on the contract agreement and also stated that Sarkisian turned down the opportunity to interview for an NFL job.
At 50 years old, Sarkisian led Texas to the College Football Playoff semifinals, where they were defeated by the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl on January 10th.
In their first season in the SEC, the Longhorns lost the conference title game to Georgia but went on to win two CFP playoff games before being eliminated.
During his four seasons at Texas, Sarkisian has achieved a record of 38-17, including a Big 12 title win in 2023. He has also had successful stints at Washington (2009-2013) and USC (2014-2015), with an overall head coaching record of 84-52.
Sarkisian previously served as the offensive coordinator for Alabama under Nick Saban in 2016 and also has experience coaching in the NFL with the then-Oakland Raiders (2004) and the Atlanta Falcons (2017-2018).
