"Season-ending Injury Rules Out Notre Dame Cornerback Benjamin Morrison Due to Hip Injury"

Season-ending injury sidelines Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison (hip)

Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison will be out for the remainder of the season due to a hip injury that will require surgery.

Head coach Marcus Freeman of the Fighting Irish confirmed the diagnosis on Monday.

Morrison sustained the injury during Notre Dame's dominant 49-17 win against Stanford on Saturday.

In the first six games of the season, he had recorded 20 tackles and four passes defended.

During his first two years at South Bend, Morrison had nine interceptions and was considered a potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 12th-ranked Fighting Irish (5-1) will face off against Georgia Tech (5-2) on Saturday in Atlanta.
