"Season-Ending Injury: Colorado State's WR Tory Horton Sidelined with Knee Injury"

Colorado State wide receiver Tory Horton will undergo surgery that will end his season, according to head coach Jay Norvell's announcement.

Horton sustained an injury during the Rams' 31-24 win over San Jose State on Saturday and will conclude his career just 35 yards away from breaking the Mountain West's all-time receiving record. Although the school did not disclose the specifics of the injury, it appeared to be a right knee injury.

\"While his injury will end his season, he will make a full recovery and have the opportunity to pursue the next level with the National Football League,\" Norvell stated on Monday night. \"I am grateful for Tory's loyalty to the coaching staff and for his dedication and leadership at CSU.\"

Including his two seasons at Nevada (2020-2021) before transferring to Colorado State, Horton has accumulated 3,615 yards on 265 receptions with 27 touchdowns in 50 games. The Mountain West's all-time record is 3,649 yards, which was set by Rashard Higgins of Colorado State from 2013-2015.

\"I will continue to be the ultimate teammate and captain for this team and will do whatever I can to help make this a memorable season,\" Horton stated in a release. \"I will always cherish my time playing at Colorado State and representing the green and gold.\"

Against San Jose State, Horton caught seven passes for 75 yards, bringing his season totals to 26 receptions for 353 yards and one touchdown in five games. He was named to the All-Mountain West team in 2022 and 2023.
