"Season-ending injuries sideline two starting linemen for Notre Dame"

The 17th-ranked University of Notre Dame suffered a major blow as two of their key linemen were ruled out for the rest of the season due to knee injuries, according to head coach Marcus Freeman's announcement on Monday.

During their 66-7 victory over in-state rival Purdue on Saturday, starting center Ashton Craig and defensive lineman Jordan Botelho both sustained injuries on consecutive series. Additionally, starting guard Billy Schrauth will also be sidelined for a few weeks due to a right ankle injury.

Botelho, who recorded a sack, two quarterback hurries, and 12 tackles in the first three games of the season, will be replaced by Boubacar Traore in the upcoming game against Miami (Ohio) in South Bend, Indiana.

This week, Pat Coogan will take over as the starting center, while Rocco Spindler will fill in for Schrauth at right guard.
