"Oklahoma State to Face Arizona State with QB Sam Leavitt (rib) Back in Action"
Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt is set to make a comeback from a rib injury and will be starting in Saturday's matchup against Oklahoma State, according to coach Kenny Dillingham's announcement on Wednesday.
Leavitt sustained the injury during a 27-19 victory over Utah on October 11 and was unable to play in the following week's 24-14 loss to Cincinnati.
The Sun Devils (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) had a bye week last weekend.
Leavitt, who transferred from Michigan State, has recorded 1,166 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions in six games this season.
In Leavitt's absence, Jeff Sims stepped in as the starting quarterback against Cincinnati, marking his 26th career start. He completed 12 of 23 passes for 155 yards and also rushed 14 times for 53 yards.
Sims has also started games for Georgia Tech (23) and Nebraska (two).
