'Oklahoma Appoints Jim Nagy, Senior Bowl Leader, as General Manager'

Oklahoma has selected Jim Nagy, the director of the Senior Bowl, as their new general manager. This decision was announced by the university on Wednesday.

Nagy, who has been in charge of the Senior Bowl since 2018, will be responsible for managing Oklahoma's roster and acquiring new talent. He will also handle important matters such as name, image and likeness rules, the transfer portal process, revenue-sharing, scholarship limits, and eligibility requirements.

The Sooners are preparing for their fourth season under the leadership of head coach Brent Venables.

In a statement, Nagy expressed his excitement for this new opportunity, stating, "This is a new era in college athletics at one of the top football programs in the nation. The legacy of excellence that precedes my arrival is a testament to the leadership at OU and their dedication to achieving at a championship level. I am honored to bring my experience and work ethic to this program and am confident that through collaboration and hard work, we can achieve great success."

Nagy is taking over for Curtis Lofton, who resigned last month.

In December, Nagy was interviewed by the New York Jets for their general manager position. However, the team ultimately hired Darren Mougey for the role.

Prior to this, Nagy spent almost 20 years as an NFL scout for teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and Washington Commanders.
