'NFL Draft Declarations: Alabama's Quarterback Jalen Milroe and Linebacker Jihaad Campbell'
Jalen Milroe, the quarterback for Alabama, announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday.
Having started for the Crimson Tide for two years, Milroe had one year of eligibility remaining.
Milroe's final season came to an end on Tuesday with a defeat of 19-13 to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
In a post, Milroe expressed his gratitude to his teammates and coaches for their hard work and dedication, and for helping him become the player and leader he is today.
During the 2024 season, Milroe completed 64.3% of his passes for 2,844 yards, with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 games. He also rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns.
In his first year as the starting quarterback in 2023, he finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting, passing for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns, and rushing for 531 yards and 12 scores in 13 games.
Milroe, who served as the backup to 2023's No. 1 overall draft pick Bryce Young during his first two years at Alabama, has already obtained his undergraduate degree.
