"Nebraska Hires Experienced Coach Dana Holgorsen as Consultant, According to Reports"

Nebraska has enlisted the help of experienced college coach Dana Holgorsen as a consultant in hopes of boosting their scoring.

Led by freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, the Huskers are currently averaging 23.6 points per game, which ranks them at 100th in the nation. In terms of yards gained, their offense is sitting at 99th nationally with an average of 354.1.

Holgorsen, 53, was terminated from his position at Houston last November after a five-year record of 31-28. Prior to that, he served as head coach at West Virginia from 2011-2018 and achieved a record of 61-41.

Earlier this season, Holgorsen worked as a scout and consultant for TCU. He is expected to remain with Nebraska for the remainder of the season and may potentially join their coaching staff in 2025.

The Huskers, who currently hold a record of 5-4 (2-4 in the Big Ten), have only been able to score an average of 18.3 points per game in conference play and have suffered three consecutive losses.

In light of this, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has expressed his intention to bring in "outside people" to assist the team during this difficult stretch.

\"Eighteen points a game. It\'s not good enough,\" Rhule stated on Monday.

The Huskers will have a bye week before facing off against Southern California in Los Angeles on November 16th. They will then close out their season with traditional Big Ten rivals Wisconsin (November 23rd) and Iowa (November 29th).
