Highly-rated cornerback Camdin Portis, whose father is former NFL standout and University of Miami alumni Clinton Portis, has committed to following in his father's footsteps by joining the Hurricanes.

Camdin, a member of the 2026 class, is considered a top player by both 247sports and Rivals, and has also received a four-star industry ranking from On3.

The 6-0, 165 pound defender attends Myers Park High School in Charlotte and had offers from other notable schools such as Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, and Auburn.

In an interview with 247 after his commitment, Camdin stated, "It's not just because of my family's legacy. I genuinely believe that this team's style of play suits me and I am a good fit for their system."

Clinton, who had a successful nine-year career in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and Washington, was a two-time Pro Bowler and currently holds the No. 33 spot on the league's all-time rushing list with 9,923 career rushing yards.

During his time at Miami, Clinton rushed for 2,523 yards and helped the Hurricanes win a national championship in 2001.
