Georgia's cornerback Daniel Harris was taken into custody and accused of reckless driving on Thursday evening when Athens-Clarke County police recorded him driving 106 mph on a damp road.

According to the police report, Harris was arrested at 10:40 p.m. and released at 11:49 p.m. after posting a $50 bond. The report also states that Harris was driving without a seatbelt, had an expired vehicle registration, and did not have proof of insurance.

It is uncertain if the Bulldogs program disciplined Harris, as they have a game against Kentucky on Saturday. Harris, a sophomore, has played in the first two games of the season.

This is just one of many driving-related incidents that have plagued Georgia for several years.

The most notable of these incidents was a car crash in January 2023 that resulted in the death of offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy. Police reported that alcohol was involved in the crash, which occurred while Willock was racing against a car driven by Jalen Carter, who went on to become a first-round NFL draft pick.

According to ESPN, Georgia's football program has had 20 arrests or citations for various driving-related incidents since the fatal crash. These incidents have ranged from DUIs to speeding cases.

Most recently, star running back Trevor Etienne was suspended for the 2024 season opener against Clemson after being arrested and charged with DUI in March. The DUI charge was dropped as part of Etienne's plea deal.
