Highly-touted defensive end Elijah Griffin, the premier uncommitted player in the 2025 class, revealed on Friday that he has chosen to join the Georgia football team.

Head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs successfully secured his commitment over competing schools Miami and Southern California.

Griffin, who currently plays for Savannah (Ga.) Christian Prep, is ranked as the top defensive lineman and the fourth overall prospect in his class according to the 247Sports composite. His decision to commit to Georgia adds to their already impressive list of five-star recruits, including in-state standouts edge Isaiah Gibson and linebacker Zayden Walker, both ranked as the number one players in their respective positions.

The Bulldogs have been pursuing Griffin since he was in eighth grade. In September of 2020, he announced on social media that he had received his first offer from Georgia.

Although the 6-foot-5, 285-pound athlete took visits to Miami and USC in June, he saved his official visit to Georgia for last weekend.

However, Georgia had been considered the frontrunner for quite some time.

\"I have been to Georgia so many times and I know what I want in a program and I know what I am looking for. Georgia has answered those questions to be honest,\" Griffin told On3 earlier this year.

According to 247Sports, Griffin has recorded 69 tackles for loss and 35.5 sacks during his senior season.
