Deion Sanders: No Colorado Athletes to Decline Participation in Alamo Bowl
The entire group of Colorado athletes and the Sanders Family will be present for the Alamo Bowl this month.
Head coach of the Buffaloes, Deion Sanders, expressed that the upcoming game against BYU in San Antonio will be filled with strong emotions as it will be his last time coaching his sons, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders.
\"This will be our final game together,\" Sanders stated about coaching his sons. \"And let me tell you, it will be a monumental moment. This journey began in our youth league and it all started right here in Texas.\"
The Buffaloes were on track for the Big 12 Championship in November until a surprising loss to Kansas.
If Colorado wins against BYU on December 28th, it will mark their first 10-win season since 2016. In 2023, the Buffaloes only won four games.
Junior cornerback and wide receiver, Travis Hunter, is expected to receive the Heisman Trophy on Saturday in New York. Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are both projected to be early first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They both transferred to Colorado from Jackson State to follow Deion Sanders.
Deion Sanders assured that both players, along with the rest of the team, are not opting out to protect themselves physically before entering the professional ranks.
\"Every single one of them will be playing,\" Sanders declared. \"We don't give up. We don't sit out. Playing this incredible game is a blessing.
\"Our players will participate in the bowl game because that's what we signed up to do. We will finish strong. We won't give up because that would disrupt the structure of next season.\"
