Iowa's starting quarterback, Brendan Sullivan, has recuperated from a sprained ankle and will be leading the team in the Music City Bowl against Missouri on December 30th, according to Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz's announcement on Friday.

Sullivan was unable to play in the last two games of the regular season due to the injury.

\"He is fully confident now,\" Ferentz stated about Sullivan's recovery. \"The injury is now a thing of the past. He's just catching up after missing a couple of weeks. He's been able to get some practice in during this period.\"

During Sullivan's absence, walk-on Jackson Stratton took over and led the team to victories against Maryland and Nebraska. Cade McNamara, who was the starter at the beginning of the season, has recently entered the transfer portal.

Sullivan has thrown for 344 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions this season, and has also rushed for 144 yards and four scores. He sustained the injury during a game against UCLA on November 8th.

Prior to joining Iowa, Sullivan spent three years at Northwestern, with his first year being a redshirt season.
