Army's top quarterback Bryson Daily ruled out for Air Force matchup
According to ESPN, No. 21 Army will be without their star quarterback Bryson Daily in their upcoming game against Air Force due to an undisclosed illness or injury.
Team officials have stated that this issue is not expected to end Daily's season.
Junior Dewayne Coleman will be stepping in for Daily and making his first career start.
In their last game against East Carolina on October 19th, Daily had a record-breaking performance. He scored six touchdowns, five of which were on the ground, for Army (7-0, 6-0 American Athletic Conference).
Daily rushed for 171 yards on 31 carries, marking his sixth consecutive game with over 100 rushing yards. He also became the first Army player since 1916 to score six touchdowns in a single game, surpassing the previous record of five held by Elmer Oliphant.
This season, Daily has been responsible for 26 touchdowns (seven passing, 19 rushing), breaking the previous Army record of 23 held by Leamon Hall (1977) and Kelvin Hopkins Jr. (2018).
In addition, Daily also set a new school record for rushing touchdowns, surpassing the previous record held by Carlton Jones (2004), Trent Steelman (2012), and Hopkins (2018).
With 19 rushing touchdowns, Daily currently leads the country and his 909 rushing yards is the highest among all FBS quarterbacks.
