"Announcement: Quarterback Drew Pyne Transferring to Bowling Green, Marking His Fourth University"
Quarterback Drew Pyne revealed to ESPN on Monday that he will be attending Bowling Green, making it his fourth Division I school.
Hailing from Connecticut, Pyne was considered a four-star prospect and the eighth best pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2020 according to the 247Sports composite. He initially committed to Notre Dame after high school.
Pyne, now 24 years old, spent three seasons (2020-2022) with the Fighting Irish before transferring to Arizona State in 2023 and then to Missouri in 2024.
In total, he has played in 25 games, throwing for 2,921 yards and recording 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has a 9-3 record as a starter and Bowling Green currently has an opening for a starting quarterback.
Pyne recently visited the school and met with new head coach Eddie George over the weekend.
\"The opportunity to play for Eddie George, a strong and experienced offensive line, and a team that has a history of success and can compete for a championship,\" Pyne told ESPN about his decision to join the Falcons.
Former head coach Scot Loeffler left to join the coaching staff of the Philadelphia Eagles, paving the way for George, who previously coached at Tennessee State, to take over. George and offensive coordinator Travis Partridge run a spread-style offense.
\"The team's grit, hard work, and desire to win games were the main selling points for me,\" Pyne said.
As a graduate transfer, Pyne entered the transfer portal last week and will not be able to participate in spring practice with Bowling Green due to already doing so with Missouri. He is expected to enroll at his new school on May 18 and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
