Caitlin Clark turns down invitation to NBA's 3-point shootout
WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark has declined an alleged offer to participate in the NBA All-Star Game's 3-point competition next month.
Instead, the talented guard for the Indiana Fever has expressed her desire to compete in the WNBA All-Star Game this summer, in front of her hometown fans in Indianapolis. Her representatives at Excel Sports informed ESPN of this decision on Wednesday.
The NBA's All-Star Weekend will take place from February 14-16 in San Francisco, the home of the Golden State Warriors.
There were discussions of a potential matchup between Warriors' star Stephen Curry and his former teammate Klay Thompson, now with the Dallas Mavericks, against Clark and New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu in a NBA vs. WNBA 3-point contest.
In the 2024 NBA All-Star Game held in Indianapolis, Curry and Ionescu went head-to-head, with Curry ultimately emerging as the victor with a score of 29-26.
During her debut season in 2024, Clark was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year and was also selected as an All-Star. She led the league with an impressive 122 3-point field goals.
