UNC secures commitment from top 10 F Caleb Wilson for 2025 class
Highly-touted 2025 prospect Caleb Wilson, a five-star forward, revealed on Thursday night that he has committed to North Carolina, making him the top uncommitted recruit in his class.
The 6-foot-9 athlete from Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in Atlanta announced his decision on TNT's "Inside the NBA" studio show. His other top choices were Kentucky and Ohio State.
Ultimately, it was the influence of Tar Heels head coach Hubert Davis that swayed Wilson.
"I considered the coach and our strong relationship, the team's current roster, and the coach's unwavering belief in me throughout our time together," Wilson shared on the show, concluding with, "I am excited to bring my talents to Chapel Hill."
According to the 247Sports composite, Wilson is ranked as the third-best power forward and sixth overall player in his class.
He joins a highly-regarded recruiting class at North Carolina, which includes top 10 combo guards Derek Dixon from Washington, D.C.'s Gonzaga High School and Isaiah Denis from Davidson, North Carolina's Day High School. The composite ranks the Tar Heels' incoming class as seventh in the nation.
In his senior season, Wilson has been averaging 24 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 2.5 steals per game, according to 247Sports.
