St. John's standout forward RJ Luis Jr. has announced his decision to enter the 2025 NBA Draft and join the transfer portal, according to reports from various media sources on Saturday.
Luis, who has one year of college eligibility remaining, was named the Big East Player of the Year after averaging 18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 35 games (32 starts) this season.
He also received the Big East Tournament MVP award. However, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the No. 2 seeded St. John's suffered a 75-66 defeat to No. 10 Arkansas, with Luis making just 3 of 17 shots and being benched for the final 4:56 of the game.
Originally from Miami, Luis spent his first year of college at Massachusetts before transferring to St. John's for the 2023-24 season.
