Jeremiah Fears made a crucial four-point play with only 11.5 seconds left to secure a victory for No. 14 Oklahoma against No. 24 Michigan at the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte, N.C.

Fears, the standout freshman for the Sooners, ended the game with a career-high 30 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Trailing by three points, Fears hit a game-tying 3-pointer while being fouled, and then added a free throw to seal the win for Oklahoma (11-0).

Michigan (8-3) attempted to score inside, but ultimately had to settle for a Tre Donaldson 3-point attempt with only three seconds remaining. However, Donaldson's shot bounced off the back of the rim, and although Michigan's Danny Wolf grabbed the rebound, there was not enough time to get a shot off before the buzzer.

Vladislav Goldin led Michigan with 26 points, shooting an impressive 10-of-12 from the field.

No. 6 Alabama (9-2) defeated North Dakota (4-9) 97-90 in a close game at Grand Forks, N.D. Grant Nelson, who grew up in North Dakota, recorded 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots in his homecoming. Mark Sears also scored 23 points for the Crimson Tide, who were challenged by a motivated North Dakota team. Nelson scored the go-ahead basket with 1:47 left in the game, and Alabama secured the win at the free-throw line.

Labaron Philon added 16 points for Alabama, while Treysen Eaglestaff had a career-high 40 points and eight 3-pointers for North Dakota.

No. 9 Marquette (10-2, 1-0 Big East) defeated Butler (7-5, 0-1) 80-70 in Milwaukee. Kam Jones led the Golden Eagles with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Stevie Mitchell and David Joplin each added 15 points for Marquette. Jahmyl Telfort and Kolby King both scored 16 points for Butler, who have now lost four consecutive games.

No. 11 UConn (9-3, 1-0 Big East) opened Big East play with a 94-89 overtime victory against Xavier (8-4, 0-1) in Hartford, Conn. Tarris Reed Jr. had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Huskies, while Solo Ball and Alex Karaban each added 22 points. Ryan Conwell led all scorers with 23 points for Xavier, who have now lost four of their last five games.

No. 13 Gonzaga (8-3) bounced back from a two-game losing streak with a 102-72 victory over Nicholls (7-5) in Spokane, Wash. Braden Huff led the Bulldogs with 25 points on an impressive 11-of-12 shooting. Graham Ike added 20 points and Ryan Nembhard had 18 points and 10 assists for Gonzaga. Byron Ireland scored 16 points for Nicholls, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.

No. 15 Houston (7-3) extended their home winning streak to 28 games with a 78-49 victory over Toledo (6-5). Terrance Arceneaux scored a career-high 16 points for the Cougars, while Emanuel Sharp overcame an early ankle injury to add 13 points and five rebounds. Joseph Tugler also contributed 13 points and three blocks for Houston. Sam Lewis led Toledo with 14 points.

No. 21 Memphis (9-2) rallied from an 11-point deficit to defeat Virginia (6-5) 64-62 in Charlottesville, Va. PJ Haggerty scored 21 of his 27 points in the second half for the Tigers, who improved to 6-0 against ACC opponents under coach Penny Hardaway. Dain Dainja added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis, while Elijah Saunders scored 15 points for Virginia.
