Kam Williams of Tulane University to Transfer to University of Kentucky

"Tulane's Kam Williams to make move to Kentucky"

Recently, Kam Williams, a former Tulane wing, announced his decision to transfer to Kentucky.

During his freshman year, the 6-foot-8 player averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 33 games (28 starts) for the Green Wave.

In an interview with ESPN, Williams stated, "Not many people are given opportunities like this, so I wanted to make my decision quickly. There are a lot of other players waiting to fill that spot, so I had to take advantage."

Williams ultimately chose to join coach Mark Pope's Wildcats over other interested programs such as Baylor, Florida, Louisville, Texas Tech, Texas, LSU, and Arkansas, due to their interest in his shooting and defensive abilities.

During his time at Tulane, Williams had a 41.5 percent 3-point shooting percentage and a 48.5 percent overall shooting percentage.

Unfortunately, Williams was not able to visit Kentucky before making his decision, as the team is currently preparing for their Sweet 16 game against Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament.

In regards to his future goals, Williams shared with ESPN, "My dream is to play in the NBA. Kentucky's culture and track record show that they truly care about their players and developing them into the best versions of themselves."

Williams, who was a three-star recruit in the Class of 2024 from Lafayette Christian Academy in Lafayette, La, is excited to join the Wildcats and continue his basketball journey.
