Iowa State's No. 2 F Milan Momcilovic (hand) Suffers Indefinite Loss
Iowa State's Milan Momcilovic sustained an injury to his left hand during practice this week and will be out of play indefinitely, according to an announcement made by the school on Wednesday.
The news came just hours before the highly-anticipated Big 12 showdown between No. 2 Cyclones and No. 9 Kansas. This marks the first time in the school's history that Iowa State has been ranked second nationally.
Momcilovic has been a starter in 14 of Iowa State's 15 games and has been averaging 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds. He currently leads the team with a 44.3% success rate from 3-point range and is second on the team with 31 successful 3-pointers.
Momcilovic is one of five players on the Cyclones (14-1) who have been scoring in double digits, and his absence will be a challenge for the team, which has won 11 consecutive games.
In the previous season, Momcilovic had an average of 10.9 points and 3.1 rebounds. He also set a record for the most 3-pointers made by a freshman in the school's history with a total of 61.
