Georgia Tech's Tyzhaun Claude Commits to North Carolina
North Carolina welcomed Tyzhaun Claude, a transfer from Georgia Tech, to their team on Wednesday. This comes just days after Claude received news that he was granted a waiver to play in the 2024-25 season.
This will be Claude's fourth team, and his eligibility will end after this season.
On April 1, Claude entered the transfer portal and was waiting for the NCAA's decision on his waiver. Georgetown was also reportedly interested in Claude, who had an average of 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 32 games (four starts) for the Yellow Jackets in the 2023-24 season.
Throughout his career, Claude has averaged 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 102 games (51 starts) with Morehead State (2019-22), Western Carolina (2022-23), and Georgia Tech (2023-24). He missed the entire 2020-21 season due to an ACL injury.
