"Fordham Nearing Agreement to Bring on Mike Magpayo as New Hire: Report"

Fordham is in the process of finalizing an agreement to bring on board Mike Magpayo, currently the head basketball coach at UC Riverside, according to a report from ESPN on Friday.

The 45-year-old Magpayo led the Highlanders to a 21-13 record and a spot in the NIT during the 2024-25 season.

Last week, Fordham let go of Keith Urgo after three years at the helm, which included a 12-21 record in the 2024-25 season.

Magpayo was named the Big West Coach of the Year in 2022-23 and has amassed a record of 89-63 in his five seasons at UC Riverside.

Prior to his time at UC Riverside, Magpayo served as an assistant coach at Campbell (2014-17) and Columbia (2010-14).
