"Announcement: Creighton Coach G Pop Isaacs to Undergo Hip Surgery, Out for Remainder of Season"

Creighton guard Pop Isaacs is anticipated to have surgery to address a persistent hip issue and sit out the remainder of the season, according to a report from The Field of 68 on Saturday.

After transferring from Texas Tech, Isaacs underwent hip surgery during the offseason. However, The Field of 68 reported that Isaacs continued to experience discomfort and his surgeon recommended the procedure be done now.

The junior has participated in eight games (all as a starter) for the Bluejays (6-3), with an average of 16.3 points in 31.6 minutes per game. He also has averages of 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

In a 76-63 victory over No. 1 Kansas on Wednesday, Isaacs tallied a game-high 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting, including six 3-pointers.

During the previous season with Texas Tech, Isaacs started all 34 games for the Red Raiders and averaged 15.8 points in 32.8 minutes per game.
