'Allegiant Stadium to Host Hall of Fame Series in 2027'
LAS VEGAS -- The city of Las Vegas will be hosting a major college basketball event at Allegiant Stadium.
On November 12, 2027, four of the most renowned teams in NCAA basketball history, including Arizona, Duke, Indiana, and Kansas, will participate in a doubleheader at the home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. This event will mark the first time that Allegiant Stadium, which recently hosted Super Bowl LVIII, will be used for college basketball games.
According to Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the atmosphere at Allegiant Stadium during the college basketball games will be electrifying. He also expressed excitement about kicking off the lead up to the Final Four in Las Vegas with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Series.
Combined, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, and Arizona have won a total of 15 national championships in men's basketball. This event will further solidify Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium's reputation as a top destination for major sporting events. In fact, the stadium is set to host the 2028 NCAA Men's Final Four.
John Doleva, president and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, also shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating that these four teams represent the best in college basketball and will continue to be top contenders with current and future hall of famers on their rosters. He also noted that Allegiant Stadium and Las Vegas are becoming the go-to destination for major sports and entertainment events year-round.
The Hall of Fame Series, owned and operated by Position Sports, is a collection of multi-game events that showcase some of the top teams in college basketball. The series began in 2023 and will continue this season with games in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Baltimore, and New York.
