"Recap of NBA Action: Anthony Edwards Leads Timberwolves to Victory Against Nuggets"

Anthony Edwards tallied 29 points and went 7-for-14 from beyond the arc as the Minnesota Timberwolves narrowly defeated the Denver Nuggets 119-116 on Friday evening in Minneapolis.

Julius Randle contributed 23 points, seven assists, and six rebounds for Minnesota, who secured their third win in the last four games. Rudy Gobert also had a strong performance with 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Aaron Gordon led the charge for Denver with a game-high 31 points and 11 rebounds. Nikola Jokic recorded 26 points, 13 assists, and nine rebounds, while Michael Porter Jr. added 26 points.

The Nuggets were without guard Jamal Murray in the final stretch of the game after he collided with Randle in the third quarter. Murray was placed in the concussion protocol and finished the game with six points, three assists, and two rebounds in 22 minutes. The loss ended Denver's two-game winning streak.

Celtics 124, Hornets 109

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way for Boston with 32 and 25 points, respectively, as they held off the Charlotte Hornets on their home court.

Derrick White also had a strong showing for the Celtics with 17 points. LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 31 points and four assists, while Tre Mann added 23 points. The game marked the first time first-year Hornets coach Charles Lee faced his former team, the Milwaukee Bucks, who he helped guide to an NBA title as an assistant coach last season.

Thunder 137, Trail Blazers 114

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a dominant performance with 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists as the Oklahoma City Thunder remained unbeaten with a convincing win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

Jalen Williams also had a standout game with 22 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four steals for the Thunder, who have now won their first five games of the season. Jerami Grant led the Trail Blazers with 17 points, while Deandre Ayton and Rayan Rupert added 14 points each. Portland has now lost four of their first six games of the season.

Cavaliers 120, Magic 109

Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell combined for 47 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers remained unbeaten with a win over the Orlando Magic.

Cleveland has now won their first six games of the season, matching their best start since the 2016-17 season. Evan Mobley also had a strong showing with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Despite a career-high 28 points from Jalen Suggs, the Magic were unable to overcome the Cavaliers' lead. Orlando was without All-Star forward Paolo Banchero, who sustained a torn right oblique in their previous game against the Chicago Bulls.

Knicks 128, Pistons 98

Jalen Brunson led the way for the New York Knicks with 36 points in the first three quarters as they extended their winning streak against the Detroit Pistons to 16 games.

Karl-Anthony Towns also had a strong performance with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while OG Anunoby added 21 points and six assists. The Pistons, who were coming off their first win of the season against the Philadelphia 76ers, were led by Cade Cunningham with 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Kings 123, Hawks 115

De'Aaron Fox led the Sacramento Kings with 31 points as they defeated the Atlanta Hawks, who have now lost their fourth consecutive game.

DeMar DeRozan also had a strong showing with 27 points, while Domantas Sabonis recorded 15 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists for the Kings, who have now won their third straight game. Trae Young led the Hawks with 25 points and 12 assists, while Garrison Mathews added 23 points off the bench.
