The Toronto Raptors' small forward RJ Barrett will be absent for the remainder of the preseason due to a sprained right AC joint, as announced by the team on Tuesday.

During a 125-98 victory against the Washington Wizards in Montreal on Sunday, Barrett, who is 24 years old, injured his shoulder in the second quarter.

Last season, Barrett played in 32 games (all starting) for the Raptors and averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 33.5 minutes. He was acquired from the New York Knicks on December 30.

In his career, Barrett has an average of 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 329 games (328 starts) with the Knicks and the Raptors. He was drafted third overall by the Knicks in 2019.

Before their regular season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 23, the Raptors have four more preseason games remaining.
