Philadelphia 76ers Guard Tyrese Maxey Anticipated to Be Out for Remainder of the Season

Announcement: 76ers Point Guard Tyrese Maxey (hand) Out for Remainder of Season

According to a report from ESPN on Thursday, Tyrese Maxey, the standout guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a finger tendon injury.

Maxey had also been struggling with a back problem and has not been on the court since the team's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on March 3rd.

The 76ers, who have been on a downward spiral with a record of 23-53, have also lost key players Joel Embiid and Paul George for the rest of the season, leading to their elimination from playoff contention. They have suffered nine consecutive losses and 24 out of their last 27 games.

In his 52 games played this season, Maxey, who is 24 years old, achieved a career-high average of 26.3 points, along with 6.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds. He was selected for his first All-Star team and was named the NBA's Most Improved Player in the 2023-24 season.
