Paul George, a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, sustained an injury during the beginning moments of the third quarter in Wednesday's match against the Memphis Grizzlies and was escorted to the locker room.

The 34-year-old George appeared to have hurt his left leg with 11:21 remaining in the third quarter after grabbing a rebound under the Grizzlies' basket, potentially twisting his left ankle.

He had previously missed the team's first five games due to a bone bruise in his left knee.

George, along with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid, were playing together for the first time this season.

Philadelphia has suffered nine losses in their last ten games, including four consecutive defeats, resulting in a 2-11 start to the season.

The 76ers acquired George, a nine-time All-Star, as a free agent in July. He has participated in seven games (all as a starter) and was averaging 16.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.4 steals in 30.6 minutes.
