"Mavericks Reinstating G A.J. Lawson"

Guard A.J. Lawson has inked a two-way deal to rejoin the Dallas Mavericks for the upcoming season, as announced by the team on Thursday.

On Tuesday, the Mavericks had released him in order to trim the roster down to 20 players.

Last season, the 24-year-old served as a backup for the Mavericks in 42 regular-season games, posting averages of 3.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 7.4 minutes. He also made appearances in 10 playoff games, recording a total of 11 points, three rebounds, and one block in 30 minutes.

The Canadian guard appeared in 14 games for Dallas during the 2022-23 season, tallying 54 points, 20 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Prior to that, Lawson had played in one game for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
