"Kings Initiate Trade Discussions for G De'Aaron Fox, According to Report"
According to ESPN, the Sacramento Kings are open to considering offers for their star point guard De'Aaron Fox before the trade deadline on Feb. 6.
The 27-year-old, who was previously an All-Star, is expected to have multiple teams interested in him. However, sources say that he already has a preferred destination in mind for when he becomes a free agent in 2026.
Fox is currently in the fourth year of his five-year, $163 million maximum contract that he signed in November 2020. He will have a $37.1 million salary cap hit in the 2025-26 season.
So far this season, Fox has been averaging 25.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 43 games. He has been with the Kings for eight years since being drafted as the fifth overall pick in 2017.
In the 2022-23 season, Fox was selected as an All-Star and has career averages of 21.5 points, 6.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 512 games (498 starts).
