Khris Middleton of the Bucks will miss the NBA Cup final against the Thunder due to illness
Khris Middleton, a forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, will not be able to play in the NBA Cup final against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday due to sickness.
Coach Doc Rivers shared this information with reporters approximately 90 minutes before the game in Las Vegas.
\"He was just not feeling well and we didn't want to risk him being around the team,\" Rivers stated. \"It wasn't worth the risk.\"
Middleton's status was changed from probable to doubtful less than an hour before the game. He was absent from practice on Monday.
The player returned to the court earlier this month after undergoing surgeries on both ankles during the offseason. So far, he has averaged 7.0 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in four games coming off the bench, with a shooting percentage of only 25.9%.
In his 12th season with the Bucks, Middleton has been selected as an All-Star three times and has career averages of 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 743 games (650 starts). He began his career with the Detroit Pistons before being traded to Milwaukee.
