"Grizzlies' Guard GG Jackson II Sidelined for Minimum of 3 Months with Foot Injury"

The Memphis Grizzlies' sophomore forward GG Jackson II is predicted to be out of commission for a minimum of three months following a surgery on Wednesday to fix a fracture in his right foot.

The 19-year-old Jackson suffered the injury to his fifth metatarsal last week. The organization has stated that he is expected to make a complete recovery.

According to a statement released by the Grizzlies on Friday, "While playing basketball outside of Dallas on Aug. 27, after attempting a contested layup, Jackson II experienced an unstable landing on his right foot."

Jackson was recognized as a second-team member of the NBA All-Rookie team after averaging 14.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 48 games (18 starts) for the Grizzlies during the 2023-24 season. Standing at 6-foot-9, Jackson played an average of 25.7 minutes per game.

The Grizzlies drafted Jackson in the second round of the 2023 draft.
