Draymond Green (calf) of Warriors to miss at least one week
The Golden State Warriors' small forward, Draymond Green, will be out of commission for at least one week due to a slight strain in his calf, as announced by the team on Monday.
Green's condition will be reassessed in seven days to determine the progress of his calf's recovery. The Warriors were facing off against the Boston Celtics on Monday afternoon.
The 34-year-old Green sustained the injury just three minutes into Sunday's 122-114 win against the Washington Wizards at home.
\"He's a truly exceptional player,\" said Warriors coach Steve Kerr about Green before Monday's game. \"He's one of the top big men in the league when it comes to making plays alongside Steph (Curry). When he's not on the court, we become more conventional, spreading out the floor and putting shooters out there.
\"Steph and Dray have such a strong connection that when they're both playing, they're in their element and we're in ours. But as soon as Draymond steps off the court, the game changes completely.\"
Green's brief appearance against Washington came after he missed three games due to a back injury and illness.
In 34 games (32 starts), Green has been averaging 8.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. He is currently in his 13th season, all with the Warriors.
